In addition to these findings, yawning has also been linked to certain neurological and psychiatric conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and depression. In these conditions, yawning may be a symptom of underlying neural dysfunction or a response to stress and fatigue. In conclusion, recent research has shed new light on the physiology and psychology of yawning, revealing its potential functions and benefits.
